Albuquerque officials give Lindy’s Diner owners one week before possible demolition

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – It seems like the end of an era for the 121 year old Bliss Building on Route 66 which was home to Lindy’s Diner. City officials said the historic downtown building should be demolished. Now they’ve delivered an ultimatum to the owners giving them just a week to come up with a plan.

Less than two weeks after their main wall crumbled, city leaders now say the Bliss Building’s days are very likely numbered. “There’s basically no way to even do construction without it being too dangerous, so the building has to be demo-ed,” said Mayor Tim Keller. “We have now notified the owners of that.”…
