Albuquerque city councilors approve fiscal year 2027 budget

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Albuquerque city councilors have approved the budget which appropriates $1.5 billion for operating the City Of Albuquerque for Fiscal Year 2027 after multiple amendments.

Throughout Monday’s city council meeting councilors tried to create balance between proposed budget cuts and ensuring departments and programs are funded properly. The meeting to discuss the proposed budget comes days after the council’s committee of the whole said it found an $11.8 million discrepancy in Mayor Tim Keller’s proposed budget.
