Honor Flight takes West Virginia veterans to see monuments and memorials in D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. (WBOY) — The North Central West Virginia Honor Flight took its second bus trip of the year earlier this month, giving veterans the opportunity to visit Washington, D.C. to see the memorials and monuments made in their honor.

On this honor flight, which took place the weekend of May 15, 22 West Virginia veterans attended, with a large number of them serving in Vietnam. One of the stops on the tour was to visit the Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial, which is a wall displaying the names of 58,000 men and women who gave their lives or remain missing.
