Alexandria VA – Fans of Costco’s famous pizza slices, hot dogs, and chicken bakes will soon need to make alternate lunch plans. The food court inside Costco Wholesale in Pentagon City has temporarily closed as part of a large-scale renovation project expected to modernize the popular dining area over the next several weeks.
Construction officially began Tuesday and is expected to last between eight and 10 weeks. While the store itself will remain open during renovations, the food court will be unavailable to shoppers throughout the project.Much of the construction work will take place overnight in an effort to minimize disruption for customers shopping during regular business hours.
The renovation is part of a substantial $9.6 million overhaul designed to upgrade the warehouse retailer’s food preparation and dining operations.
