Rideshare driver attacked during armed carjacking in Southwest DC

WASHINGTON (7News) — Two people, including a 14-year-old boy, are facing charges after police say a rideshare driver was carjacked at gunpoint in Southwest D.C.

According to the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), the armed carjacking happened around 1:05 a.m. Wednesday in the 2100 block of 1st Street Southwest.

Police said the victim, who was working as a rideshare driver, was stopped with two people inside the vehicle when one of them pulled out a handgun, struck the driver and demanded the vehicle…
