Created by Chef Michelle Poteaux, pastry chef and co-owner of Bastille Brasserie & Bar, Maison Breizh introduces guests to one of France’s most beloved regional cuisines while staying true to traditional techniques and quality ingredients.

Maison Breizh was inspired by Chef Michelle’s time in from family trips to Normandy and professional training at L’Atelier de la Crêpe in Saint-Malo, one of Brittany’s renowned culinary destinations, a coastal region in northwestern France known for its buckwheat galettes, sweet crêpes, and crisp ciders. Located within Bastille Brasserie & Bar in Old Town Alexandria, Maison Breizh aims to transport diners to the French countryside without leaving Northern Virginia.

Sarrasin, or buckwheat brings a light nutty flavor as the defining ingredient in a traditional Breton galette. Each galette is crafted with crisp edges, fillings, sauces, and seasonal ingredients designed to highlight the simplicity and elegance of Brittany’s cuisine. Gluten-free guests can enjoy buckwheat galettes as they are gluten-free. Sweet crêpes, made with wheat flour complement the menu along with French ciders that pair naturally with the dishes…
