WASHINGTON, DC — Severe weather is expected to return to the Washington, D.C., region Thursday, bringing a Flood Watch and the chance for scattered strong storms by mid to late afternoon.
Clouds and a few early showers were already in place, but the day was expected to stay mostly dry through the morning before conditions become more unsettled later.
Morning Starts Mostly Dry
Temperatures began in the mid- to upper-70s, with humid air and only isolated showers or stray thunderstorms possible early in the day.
Forecasters said the more active weather would hold off for several hours, even as showers could briefly pop up on and off before midday.
Afternoon Storm Threat Builds
