DC police announce road closures for Lindsey Graham’s funeral

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — D.C. police have announced road closures in the District that will be taking place for Sen. Lindsey Graham’s funeral on Tuesday.

Graham passed away suddenly on July 11. He was 71 years old.

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said that starting at 6 a.m. on Monday and lasting until 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, these streets will not allow parking:

• 17^th Street from H Street to Pennsylvania Avenue, NW
• H Street from 17^th Street to Vermont Avenue, NW
• 16^th Street from I Street to H Street, NW

The following streets will not allow parking from 8 p.m. on Monday until 6 p.m. on Tuesday:

• Garfield Street from Massachusetts Avenue to 34^th Street, NW
• 34^th Street from Woodley Road to Fulton Street, NW
• Woodley Road from Wisconsin Avenue to 34^th Street, NW
• Wisconsin Avenue from Lowell Street to Massachusetts Avenue, NW
• Cathedral Avenue from Massachusetts Avenue to Wisconsin Avenue, NW
• 125′ north of Woodley Road on 36^th Street, NW
• 50′ north of Woodley Road on 35^th Street and 34^th Street, NW
• 50′ east of 34^th Street on Woodley Road, Klingle Road, Cleveland Avenue, Cathedral Avenue, and Garfield Street, NW
• 50′ south of Garfield Street on 34^th Place, 35^th Street, and 36^th Street, NW
• 200′ west of Wisconsin Avenue on Woodley Road, NW

MPD said that these streets will be closed to vehicle traffic from noon on Monday until 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday:

• Pennsylvania Avenue from 18^th Street to 17^th Street, NW
• 17^th Street from New York Avenue to K Street, NW
• H Street from 18^th Street to Vermont Avenue, NW
• 16^th Street from I Street to H Street, NW

These streets will be closed to vehicle traffic from around 4:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.:

• Garfield Street from Massachusetts Avenue, NW to 34^th Street, NW
• 34^th Street from Woodley Road to Garfield Street, NW
• Woodley Road from Wisconsin Avenue to 34^th Street, NW
• Wisconsin Avenue from Lowell Street to Massachusetts Avenue, NW
• Cathedral Avenue from Massachusetts Avenue to Wisconsin Avenue, NW

Police said to expect intermittent closures on the following streets from 8 p.m. on Monday through 4:30 a.m. on Tuesday:

• Woodley Road from Wisconsin Avenue to 34^th Street, NW
• Wisconsin Avenue from Lowell Street to Massachusetts Avenue, NW

These streets will be restricted to local traffic from around 4:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday:

• Woodland Drive from Garfield Street to 32^nd Street, NW
• 33^rd Place from Cathedral Avenue to Garfield Street, NW
• Cleveland Avenue from 34^th Street to 32^nd Street, NW
• Cathedral Avenue from 34^th Street to 32^nd Street, NW
• Klingle Road from 34^th Street to 32^nd Street, NW
• Woodley Road from 33^rd Street to 32^nd Street, NW
• 34^th Street from Macomb Street to Woodley Road, NW
• 35^th Street from Lowell Street to Woodley Road, NW
