BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — A retired Army captain and Purple Heart recipient has filed a federal claim alleging she suffered serious physical and psychological injuries during a May detention involving Idaho National Guard soldiers in Washington, D.C.
The claim was filed on Wednesday by the American Civil Liberties Union of the District of Columbia and the law firm Levy Firestone Muse LLP under the Federal Tort Claims Act. It alleges Anna King suffered significant injuries during an encounter outside her home.
According to the filing, King was sitting outside her apartment when three National Guard members approached, told her she was being detained and took her to the ground.
