A suspicious package found at a firehouse in Northwest Washington, D.C., spurred a large response early Wednesday that shut down busy Wisconsin Ave. NW during the morning rush.
Investigators cleared the suspicious package, and a thermos was deemed safe, D.C. officials said. All lanes have reopened on Wisconsin Avenue NW, which was blocked between Tenley Circle and Van Ness Street for a time. Some side streets were also blocked.
