Man found dead in Piscataqua River after leaving Green Acre Bahá’í Center in Eliot

ELIOT, Maine — Authorities are investigating the death of a man found in the Piscataqua River Aug. 13 after he left the Green Acre Bahá’í Center of Learning the night prior, according to Eliot police.

The victim, a 20-year-old from Bethesda, Maryland, left the Green Acre Drive campus for a walk around 10:30 p.m. Aug. 12 and was later reported missing by the center, said Eliot police Chief Elliott Moya.

The man was attending a program at the Green Acre facility and was unaccounted for several hours before being reported missing to law enforcement, Moya said. The center is located across Main Street in close proximity to the river…
