Shooter in Blake High School fracas sentenced to 5 years

In the course of a fight among students in the parking lot at James Hubert Blake High School in April, a gun was discharged. The owner of the gun was charged with carrying a loaded handgun, reckless endangerment and felony use of a firearm in the commission of a violent crime.

On Friday, 18-year-old Taric Wilson of Silver Spring was sentenced to five years in prison by Montgomery County Circuit Court. All but 98 days of his sentence was suspended. Wilson will be under supervised probation for three years upon release.

At the time of the offense the defendant was 17, but he pleaded guilty to an adult charge…
