DC Public Library issues statement after Dolly Parton’s death

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — After iconic country star Dolly Parton died on Tuesday, DC Public Library provided a statement.

Parton’s Imagination Library collaborates with libraries in D.C. The STAR: Books from Birth program was launched in D.C. on Feb. 4, 2016, in partnership with the Imagination Library.

Once a month, the program sends one age-appropriate book to enrolled children from birth until they are 5 years old.

DC Public Library said that the program has mailed almost four million books to over 100,000 kids…
