WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — A jury returned a guilty verdict Wednesday for a man who stabbed his co-worker a dozen times, killing him outside of Audi Field.
U.S. Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro said Thursday that the jury convicted 51-year-old Wali Shabazz of voluntary manslaughter while armed and carrying a dangerous weapon.
During the trial, evidence revealed that on April 27, 2024, Shabazz and the victim, Martin Gross Jr., were scheduled to work at the bike valet service provided at the T and 2nd Street SW corner of Audi Field, before a D.C. United Soccer game.
