One of our final “chilly” days of this spring is behind us. On Thursday, gusty winds and clouds limited D.C.’s high to only 63°, which is 16° below average.

Afternoon highs should get just above 70° Friday, as clouds will be far less of an issue. It’s perfect finish to the week and our last day without A/C for a while, as a major heat wave is on the way.

Major heatwave on the way

Saturday will be the better half of the weekend. Abundant sunshine and a southwest wind will bring the 80s back for the afternoon. The humidity level will still be low Saturday, but it will be increasing Saturday night into Sunday.

Sunday afternoon will be hot. Daytime highs will make a serious run for 90° and, with a bit of humidity in the air, there could be an isolated afternoon storm…
