Pennsylvania meatpacking plant closing, 1,500 employees could lose their jobs

SOUDERTON, Pa. (WTAJ) — A meatpacking plant announced it will be closing its Pennsylvania locations this summer, effectively leaving 1,485 employees without jobs.

JBS Beef Plant in Souderton, Montgomery County, filed a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) with the state of Pennsylvania, alerting the commonwealth of the closure and potential job losses.
