Design contract awarded for I-78 Toll Bridge pavement, drainage improvements

The Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission has awarded a design contract for a project to rehabilitate pavement and improve stormwater drainage along the Pennsylvania approach to the Interstate 78 Toll Bridge.

The commission awarded a contract to Arora and Associates, P.C., of Lawrenceville, New Jersey, at its June 29 meeting. The contract, valued at no more than $1,426,207.71, covers the design of improvements along the 2.25-mile section of Interstate 78 between the toll bridge and the Morgan Hill Road interchange (Exit 75) in Williams Township.

According to the commission, the design work includes plans to mill and repave all asphalt roadway surfaces in both directions of I-78 along the project corridor. The highway’s pavement was last rehabilitated in 2012…
