Nazareth Borough Council approves grants, park improvements and public safety initiatives

Nazareth Borough Council approved a variety of grant applications, park improvements, public safety initiatives, infrastructure projects and personnel actions during the Monday, July 6 meeting, while also hearing a lengthy statement from Councilwoman Kayla Green regarding communication, transparency and long-term planning.

Council approved resolutions sponsoring three grant applications for the ambulance corps, including Northampton County Local Share Account funding for a Stryker LifePak35 automated external defibrillator, Monroe County Local Share Account funding for a Ford T350 wheelchair van and a Northampton County Public Safety Grant for a Power Load System for an ambulance.

Council President Daniel R. Chiavaroli and Councilman Carl R. Strye abstained from all Nazareth Regional Ambulance Corps agenda items because both serve on the ambulance corps’ board of directors…
