More than $90M Route 309 interchange project starting soon in Lehigh Valley, PennDOT says

A project to reconstruct Route 309′s Tilighman Street interchange will begin this year, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said. Carrying a price tag of $90-$95 million, it tops the list of major projects scheduled to start in 2024 in the Lehigh Valley. PennDOT officials highlighted this and other key District 5 projects at a news conference Wednesday in Frackville, Schuylkill County. PennDOT’s District 5 includes Berks, Carbon, Lehigh, Monroe, Northampton, and Schuylkill counties.
