A Boston judge on Wednesday sentenced a drifter to life in prison after he confessed to the bludgeoning murder of a Richland Township woman who moved there to build a new life, ending a 46-year mystery in the killing of 24-year-old Susan Rose.
Rose’s body was discovered by construction workers at an unfinished apartment in Boston’s fashionable Back Bay neighborhood. Police said she had been sexually abused after being bludgeoned to death with a hammer.
