A Norristown man will spend more than two decades in state prison after pleading guilty to murdering another member of the local homeless community and dumping his body in a trash can along the Schuylkill River Trail.
Felix Santos-Colon Jr., 46, received a sentence of 22.5 to 45 years in prison on Friday, May 8, after admitting to the fatal beating of 44-year-old Oscar Traviezo-Tercero. Montgomery County Judge William R. Carpenter imposed the maximum possible sentence for the charges as part of a plea agreement, with Santos-Colon originally charged with first-degree murder.
The victim’s body was discovered in November 2025 when a passerby entered a wooded area near the Schuylkill River Trail and noticed an ugly smell coming from a trash can.
