Cheers, hugs and moments of reflection were on display at both Wellstar Kennestone Regional Medical Center in Marietta and Wellstar Cobb Medical Center in Austell earlier this month, where cancer survivors, families and care teams came together to celebrate life beyond diagnosis and the power of community on National Cancer Survivors Day.
The events, part of Wellstar’s systemwide “Saddle Up for Survivorship” theme, honored the resilience of survivors while offering encouragement to those still in treatment.
Across both locations, guests gathered for uplifting celebrations filled with meaningful connection and joyful moments. In Marietta, attendees enjoyed live music, a BBQ meal from Big Girls Catering, raffle prizes from community sponsors, a caricature artist, and special appreciation gifts from the Center for Survivorship and Support. In Austell, the “Hope Lights the Trail” event brought together survivors, caregivers, physicians and community supporters for live music, food, games and raffles.
