Emory University appointed Sean Clarke, who is currently the Ursula Springer Chair in Nursing Leadership at New York University’s (NYU) Rory Meyers College of Nursing, as the next dean of the Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing on June 23.
Clarke, who will begin his term on Aug. 1, previously served in multiple leadership roles at NYU, including executive vice dean of the College of Nursing. He has also held academic and research positions at Boston College, McGill University in Montreal, the University of Toronto and the University of Pennsylvania. His research focuses on issues surrounding the nursing workforce nationally, patient safety and health policy.
In his new role, Clarke will report to both Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs Badia Ahad and Emory Healthcare CEO Joon Lee. In Emory News Center’s press release, Ahad praised Clarke’s achievements as both an educator and a researcher…
