Erin Marsh’s all-around athletic excellence netted a breakthrough national championship on Friday.
The former Buford track and field star won her first national title in the heptathlon at the USA Track and Field Outdoor National Championships in New York, emerging from a field of the nation’s top performers.
Marsh, 27, totaled 6,059 points to hold off runner-up Timara Chapman’s 6,021 and third-place Lauren Taubert’s 5,971. The winning total was off her career best of 6,305, set a month earlier…
