We’ve lived in Dunwoody for six years and have no plans of leaving. We love the community, the schools, and amenities like the Dunwoody Nature Center right in our backyard. But our biggest disappointment has always been the city’s reluctance to prioritize projects that encourage families to spend more time — and money — within Dunwoody.
A few months ago, we saw potential plans to rethink the post office in the village. Why do two of the three proposals need to have administrative park facilities in the village? Downtown Dunwoody already feels designed to repel families with young kids: limited parking, minimal greenspace, and very few places where families can safely gather and spend time together. I’m now seeing the mayor celebrating the redesign of the sitting space in front of Fresh Market, which is another example of building something that doesn’t cater to families…
