Georgia Neighborhood E-Bike Incident Ends With Kids in Handcuffs and Residents Fighting Online

A video showing several young people sitting handcuffed on the ground during an encounter with Cherokee County sheriff’s deputies has sparked an argument over whether the response went too far. The footage was shared on Facebook by Natasha Noble, who characterized the incident as kids being restrained “all over e-bikes” in the Centennial Lake neighborhood.

According to Noble’s post, multiple young people can be seen sitting on the grass with their hands restrained behind their backs while deputies remain nearby. Noble also criticized a deputy shown telling the person recording to “keep moving,” questioning whether putting the juveniles in handcuffs was necessary for what she described as a neighborhood traffic or ordinance issue.

However, a woman commenting on the post who identified herself as the person who called 911 offered a significantly different description of what happened before deputies arrived. She said the young people had been riding e-bikes dangerously before surrounding her vehicle, yelling at her, making vulgar and sexual gestures, and refusing to move far enough away for her to safely exit…
