A new restaurant and commercial building will be built in the Macedonia community in east Cherokee County.
On Sept. 1, the Cherokee County Board of Commissioners unanimously voted to approve a request from Steve Smeltz to rezone three parcels totaling about 4.21 acres from single-family residential (R-40) to general commercial to build a 19,750 square-foot multi-tenant building and a 9,700 square-foot restaurant at 7859, 7889, 7919 Cumming Highway near Canton.
