Sandy Springs lays groundwork for comprehensive plan updates

SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. — Residents of Sandy Springs will soon be charting the vision they have for their city over the next 10 to 20 years with an update to its comprehensive plan.

The mayor and City Council at its April 21 meeting officially kicked off the start to update its comprehensive plan for the 2027-2047 planning horizon. The comprehensive plan, known as Next Ten, is the city’s chief policy document that regulates everything from land use, development and capital improvements.

The comprehensive plan update will include a review of the city’s recreation and parks master plan to decide what facilities and programming to invest in.
