AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The Texas Department of Transportation’s Amarillo District released its “Know Before You Go” report on lane closures for this week.
According to TxDOT, road closures and detours expected throughout this week include:
Monday,
- Drivers can expect the intersection of Bell Street and 45th Avenue to be a four-way stop as crews perform traffic signal work. The work is expected to be completed by the end of the day.
Tuesday,
- Drivers can expect the intersection of Western Street and Plains Boulevard to be a four-way stop as crews perform traffic signal work. The work is expected to be completed by the end of the week.
Wednesday,
- Drivers can expect the left two lanes of the northbound US 87 bridge at 15th Avenue, going into downtown Amarillo, to be closed for bridge maintenance operations.
Throughout the Week
- Drivers can expect various lane closures on the southbound I-27 frontage roads near Bell Street for patching and drainage operations.
- Drivers can expect the right lane of westbound I-40 from Adkisson Road to Westline Road to be closed for concrete repair operations.
- Drivers can expect various left lane closures in both directions of I-40 from just west of Amarillo to the Oldham County line for mowing operations.
- The Plum Creek bridge on SH 305, just west of Higgins, will be closed in both directions for routine maintenance. The work is expected to be completed by Friday, June 12. During this time, drivers can detour by taking US 60 to SH 213 to FM 1454 to SH 15. Signs are placed in the area to notify drivers of the closure and detour.
