The July 4th weekend will go out with an even bigger bang this year for America’s 250th anniversary, including events in Amarillo and throughout the Texas Panhandle.
Amarillo Red, White & Boom!
The City of Amarillo’s Parks and Recreation Department (PARD), in collaboration with Outdoor Amarillo, are bringing the Amarillo Red, White, & Boom! event to John Stiff Park, starting at 5 p.m. on July 4 and continuing throughout the evening, ending with a big fireworks and drone show.
The city said a breathtaking display of fireworks and cutting-edge drone technology will light up the night, commemorating the spirit of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The city will determine the safety of shooting fireworks prior to the event; if the environment is determined to be unsafe for fireworks, the show will be rescheduled.
The Fourth of July event is free and open to the public. Free parking is available off of 45th Street, and free shuttle transportation is available from Randall High School, Amarillo High School or the Amarillo Civic Center north parking lot. Other festivities include:
- Concerts: Performers include Stealing Handshakes and The Droptines.
- Beer garden: Relax with a beverage – must be 21 or older to enter.
- Food trucks: A diverse selection of local food trucks, chosen by the public.
- Fun zone for kids: Children can enjoy the dedicated fun zone complete with games and activities.
