AUSTIN, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) – The Texas State Energy Conservation Office is set to host free, in-person community events this summer to share information and gather input on the new Texas Home Efficiency Rebates and Home Electrification and Appliance Rebate programs.
According to SECO, which is administered by the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts and supported by APTIM Federal Services LLC, these programs will provide rebates to eligible households – up to $8,000 for HOMES and up to $14,000 for HEAR – to make energy efficiency improvements and reduce energy costs.

- Program benefits
- Anticipated launch timeline and process
- An opportunity to provide input
- Where to find updates and next steps
The next event will be held in Amarillo on Thursday, July 9, from 5-7 p.m. at the downtown branch of the Amarillo Public Library.

SECO said that they are in the process of developing program resources and timelines, pending review and approval from the U.S. Department of Energy. Once approved, eligible Texans will be able to apply for HOMES and HEAR rebates.
