Possible severe storms this weekend

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — From Meteorologist Jim Danner, thunderstorms are expected Saturday afternoon and evening across the Texas and Oklahoma panhandles, with some storms potentially severe.

Potential severe storms could produce damaging wind gusts as a weather boundary drops south and stalls near the I-40 corridor, while high temperatures reach the upper 90s to lower 100s ahead of the storms. On Sunday, storm chances continue around 20 to 40 percent as a strong upper-level ridge builds north of the region, then conditions trend drier.
