AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — Texas State District 87 Representative Caroline Fairly has opened nominations for the Texas Armed Services Scholarship Program for the 2026-2027 school year.
According to officials with Fairly’s office, the scholarship provides eligible students up to $30,000 per year for up to four years of study at a Texas college or university of their choice. Officials note the program supports students pursuing military service through college-level training programs like the ROTC.
The program is aimed at helping ease the financial burden for those who choose to serve while earning a degree.

“Every year, I’m reminded of how many young people in the Panhandle are ready to step up and serve,” said Rep. Fairly. “TASSP gives them a real path to do that. This scholarship pairs a quality education with a commitment to this country. I’m so grateful to be able to play a small part in connecting a student to a career of service.”…
