ARCHER CITY (KFDX/KJTL) — Archer City High School Defensive Coordinator Monty Clay has spent years teaching students about perseverance on the football field. Now, he’s sharing a much more personal lesson as a father.
On June 5, Clay’s 20-year-old son, Jacob, was shot while playing a pickup basketball game in Amarillo after an argument escalated. Jacob survived, but the shooting left him paralyzed.
Monty says the phone call he received that night is one he will never forget…
