AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The Potter County Sheriff’s Office is warning the public of a new scam targeting families of inmates.
PCSO stated that it was made aware of the scam after a family member was told their incarcerated friend or family member could receive a reduced charge if they paid $750 for a course using Zelle.

Officials said, “The Potter County Sheriff’s Office is not offering any program or course that allows criminal charges to be reduced in exchange for payment through Zelle or any other payment app.”
