AMARILLO, Texas – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Commercial Vehicle Enforcement (CVE) team has been actively working to ensure the safety of commercial vehicles on busy highways.Earlier this week, CVE Troopers in the DPS Northwest Texas Region participated in Operation Compliance along I-40 near Amarillo and Shamrock. The operation aimed to reduce commercial motor vehicle crashes through the enforcement of the Motor Carrier Safety Act and other regulations, according to a press release from the department.Additionally, CVE Troopers in the DPS Southeast Texas Region collaborated with partners from the League City and Friendswood Police Departments for this week’s Brake Safety Check Task Force in Brazoria County. This collective enforcement effort resulted in 125 inspections completed, stated the source.
