Northwest Texas Healthcare System to host Neonatal ICU Reunion

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The Northwest Texas Healthcare System Children’s Hospital will host their 50th Anniversary Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Reunion from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday.

According to officials, The Children’s Hospital at NWTH has the largest neonatal intensive care unit in the northwest Texas region. It was established as a pioneer in neonatal intensive care in 1974.

NWTH officials state the Level III NICU is equipped for a wide range of conditions, including babies born a few weeks prematurely, unstable babies and those born with birth weights. The NICU treats infants as young as 23 weeks gestational age and is designed to provide care for babies with various respiratory and infectious conditions.

“We look forward to reuniting the medical professionals with their former patients and families. It is such a special occasion when we can learn more about the lives of our patients who were so tiny when we last saw them. We hope they will join us and share in this special occasion,” shared Lindsay Mosley, Director of The Children’s Hospital.
