City of Amarillo Animal Management & Welfare provides vouchers

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — According to officials with Animal Management & Welfare, it’s the Spay/Neuter Voucher Program, following a successful pilot held in summer 2025.

The program helps provide affordable spay and neuter services to residents living in designated Recognized Neighborhood Associations, supporting pet health and community well-being. Officials added that this is funded by the Amarillo City Council.

Amarillo splash pads set to open for summer

We participated in the Wesley Health Fair. We used some of the funding that the City Council put aside for Spay/Neuter for the citizens of Amarillo,” explained Interim Director for Amarillo Animal Management and Welfare, Ty Vernon. “We went to the Barrio to provide those Spay/Neuter vouchers. We did end up providing 51 Spay/Neuter vouchers to citizens who live around the Barrio area.”
