Amarillo City Council talks Route 66 mural, water study, aircraft fire simulator

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) – The Amarillo City Council is expected to hold a regular meeting on Tuesday, which is set to include discussions on items such as a new Route 66 mural, a presentation of a water and wastewater rate study, developing cost recovery options for various city services in preparation for the 2026-2027 Fiscal Year budget, and a new live aircraft fire simulator.

The regular Amarillo City Council meeting is expected to begin at 3 p.m., with sign-up for public comment available online here, by calling the City Secretary’s office at 806-378-3014 or in person at least 15 minutes before the scheduled meeting start time.
