AMARILLO, Texas, (KAMR/KCIT) – A Potter County jury has sentenced a man to life in prison for Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child. 40-year-old George Allen Rogers was sentenced Friday April 17.
Amarillo man awaiting trial for alleged abuse of corpse dies in custody; officials site ‘pre-existing medical condition’
The trial began the first of last week and lasted until Wednesday.
According to 47th District Attorney Jason Herring, during the trial, the jury heard from the victim, an interviewer from The Bridge Children’s Advocacy Center, medical personnel and members of the Amarillo Police Department.
Herring said, “Our office is privileged to help children speak up about what has happened to them. We are grateful for all the people who helped with this case and want to especially thank the jury for sending the message that abusing children will not be tolerated in Potter County.”…
