Amarillo man indicted on federal weapons charge after March 2026 shooting

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) – One of two men arrested in alleged connection to a shooting on South Mississippi in March has now additionally been indicted on a federal weapons charge.

20-year-old Azaiah Nathaniel Zuniga-Valle was indicted in Amarillo Federal Court Thursday on one count of “Unlawful Possession of a Machinegun.”

Zuniga-Valle is now facing the weapons charge charge as well as two counts of alleged “Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon” in Potter County. He was previously indicted on the aggravated assault charges in mid-April, alongside 20-year-old Adan Moyces Lamas.

Zuniga-Valle and Lamas are accused of firing into a house where a party was being held on March 22. The two were allegedly asked to leave after one of them showed others there an AR-style weapon, as noted in previous reports.
