AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) – Amarillo College invited community members to experience a Night Live Burn Training event on Thursday, set to highlight “the intensity and teamwork of real-world firefighting” for those enrolled in its First Responders Academy.
AC officials said the after-dark training will be open to the public to provide a front-row seat for community members to watch academy cadets in action as they battle controlled live fires.

“This is an incredible opportunity for the public to see firsthand the level of preparation, precision, and courage required in today’s fire service,” said Stephen Malley, AC Fire Protection program coordinator. “Our cadets train hard for these moments, and we’re proud to share that experience with our community.”
The live burn training is set to start at around 7:30 p.m. on Thursday at the First Responders Academy at 3891 Plains Blvd., and will be free and open to the public with parking available on-site…
