AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) – The Amarillo Fire Department responded early Tuesday morning to a fire at a home in the 1400 block of South Arthur, and advised community members to stay clear of the scene until further notice.
The department said crews responded to the scene just after 3 a.m. on Tuesday and found “heavy fire” showing from the home. Crews were able to knock down the fire to make entry into the building, and found no occupants inside during their initial search.

A downed power line was reported in the backyard, according to the department, but there were no injuries reported as of 3:40 a.m. and no confirmed threats to other buildings.
The scene was still considered active on Tuesday morning, and officials asked community members to avoid the area if possible. Otherwise, those in the area should be aware of possible delays or detours, and be cautious of possible emergency vehicles or personnel on or near the roadway…
