Big News: The Amarillo Zoo & Sanctuary Website is Officially Live.

It’s been exciting watching all of the great things changing out at the Amarillo Zoo. I will admit that I have never been out there in all my years in Amarillo until my granddaughter moved out here last year. Since then, I have been several times.

She is only four, and from day one, she has claimed the bobcats as being her favorite exhibit. While we enjoy walking through the entire zoo to see all the animals, we always find ourselves gravitating back to the bobcats.

We can spend hours upon hours out at the zoo. The way it should be. The Amarillo Zoo & Sanctuary recently transitioned to a nonprofit model and has been making several changes. They started off with new signage, which is nice.

They also went through the painstaking, delicate project of relocating some of the animals so they could clean up their habitat. The spider monkey habitat has received a much-needed refresh, ensuring the water and environment are pristine once again…
