Evacuations ordered in parts of Randall County, local area emergency issued

RANDALL COUNTY, Texas (KVII) — Evacuations have been ordered in parts of Randall County by Randall County Sheriff’s Office (RCSO) and Amarillo Area Office of Emergency Management (AOEM) due to multiple wildfire incidents.

As of 9:00 p.m. The Hunggate Fire in Randall County has burned 14,000 acres and is 10 percent contained.

7:36 P.M. –AOEM and authorities have issued a local area emergency for Randall County effective until 9:35 P.M.

AOEM has issued the following for Randall County: “Prepare to evacuate due to wildfire. This order is not effective yet. Wait for notification and follow directions from emergency personnel. Roads may be blocked or congested, so plan your route accordingly. Continue to monitor social media. Stay informed via local news or official channels. If evacuated, go to Cole Community Center”…
