Canyon shares how to help people affected by Randall County wildfires

Amidst wildfires impacting 14,000-plus acres of Randall County May 14-15, the city of Canyon released a list of ways people can help those impacted.

“Our thoughts are with all those impacted by the recent wildfires,” the city’s website reads. “At this time, no direct donations are needed for first responders.”

According to the city, anyone wanting to help can make monetary donations to the Panhandle Disaster Relief Fund through the Amarillo Area Foundation. The relief fund was established in 2006, since then residents have experienced losses of millions of dollars in homes, businesses, outbuildings, vehicles, livestock, grazing land, and fencing, according to the foundation…
