Man sentenced to death for 1983 drug-induced killing of Southern California cop dies in prison

Michael A. Jackson, who was sentenced to death in 1984 for killing a West Covina police officer while high on PCP the previous year, died in prison over the weekend, California prison officials announced.

The California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR), in a media release, confirmed in a media release that Jackson, whose sentence began on May 30, 1984, died at the age of 72 on Saturday.
