A person was killed Wednesday afternoon in a major traffic collision that prompted the closure of a stretch of Pacific Coast Highway in Newport Beach, authorities said.
The crash was reported around 12:46 p.m. near Pelican Point and Coast Highway, according to Newport Beach police spokesperson Heather Rangel.
