An Irvine man accused of beating a duckling to death with a recycling bin and seriously injuring another is now facing multiple felony animal cruelty charges, prosecutors announced Thursday.
The Orange County District Attorney’s Office charged Randall Lee Bertsch, 71, with two felony counts of animal cruelty, three felony counts of attempted animal cruelty, one misdemeanor count of harassment of animals and five felony weapon enhancements for the alleged use of a trash bin during the attack.
If convicted on all charges, Bertsch faces up to seven years and six months in Orange County Jail…
