Two people have been arrested after three Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies were injured during a volatile post-World Cup celebration in East Los Angeles earlier this week, authorities announced Friday.
According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, deputies were assigned to Whittier Boulevard between Arizona Avenue and Simmons Avenue shortly before midnight on June 30 to help maintain public safety after Mexico’s FIFA World Cup victory over Ecuador.
